YOUR IMMORAL ARTIFICIAL EAR is an artist-designed listening, recording and playback device capable of receiving, capturing, storing and replaying sound.
Sound can enter the Ear through its microphone, arrive wirelessly through Bluetooth, or exist as audio stored locally on a TF / microSD card. Recorded sound is stored locally and becomes available to the Ear for later playback.
Sound leaves the Ear through its 3.5 mm audio output, allowing it to be heard directly through headphones or connected to a wider sound system.
YOUR IMMORAL ARTIFICIAL EAR 是一件由艺术家设计的聆听、录音与播放装置，能够接收、采集、储存并重新播放声音。
声音可以通过麦克风进入 Artificial Ear，也可以通过蓝牙无线传入，或以音频文件的形式储存在 TF / microSD 卡中。Artificial Ear 所采集的声音会被储存在本地，并可以在之后重新播放。
声音通过 3.5 mm 音频接口从 Artificial Ear 输出，可直接连接耳机进行聆听，也可以接入更大的声音系统。

CONNECTORS / 接口拔插
The Micro-USB power connector and 3.5 mm audio connector may feel firm, particularly during the first uses. Insert and remove both connectors straight and parallel to the port. Do not twist, bend or pull them sideways.
Micro-USB 电源接口与 3.5 mm 音频接口在使用时可能较紧，尤其是在最初几次使用时。插入或拔出连接线时，请保持插头与接口平直、平行，避免左右扭动、弯折或侧向拉扯。
TRANSPARENT SURFACES / 透明表面
YOUR IMMORAL ARTIFICIAL EAR is constructed using transparent materials that expose its internal electronic architecture.
Fingerprints, fine scratches and other traces of handling may gradually appear on the transparent surfaces through use. These marks are considered part of the material life of the work rather than defects.
YOUR IMMORAL ARTIFICIAL EAR 使用透明材料构成，使内部电子结构保持可见。
随着使用，透明表面可能逐渐留下指纹、细微划痕及其他接触痕迹。这些痕迹被视为作品在使用过程中形成的材料状态，而非作品瑕疵。

Bluetooth operates independently from Music Mode and Record Mode.
打开手机、平板或电脑的蓝牙设置并连接：

Important: Do not begin Bluetooth playback during an active recording. Bluetooth playback can interrupt the recording before it is normally saved.

01 / HOW THE EAR WORKS
ARTIFICIAL EAR 如何工作
The Ear receives sound, records sound, stores sound and plays sound back.
HEAR → RECORD → STORE → PLAY → HEAR AGAIN
The device has two primary operating modes:
MUSIC MODE — playback of audio stored on the TF / microSD card.
RECORD MODE — capture and storage of sound through the microphone.
Press MODE to move between Music Mode and Record Mode.
Bluetooth operates independently from these two modes and may remain connected while the Ear moves between them.
Artificial Ear 接收声音、记录声音、储存声音，并将声音重新播放。
聆听 → 录音 → 储存 → 播放 → 再次聆听
设备具有两个主要工作模式：

02 / POWER
供电
Artificial Ear V1.0 requires continuous external power.
Power Input: 5V DC via Micro-USB
Connect the Micro-USB port to a suitable USB power source before use.
V1.0 does not contain an internal battery. Disconnecting the power source turns the device off.
Artificial Ear V1.0 需要持续连接外部电源。
电源输入：5V DC，通过 Micro-USB
使用前，将 Micro-USB 接口连接至适合的 USB 电源。

04 / LISTEN BACK
回听
Press MODE until you hear “Music Mode.”
When playable audio is available on the TF / microSD card, the Ear begins local playback automatically.
Recordings made by the Ear become part of the audio available for playback in Music Mode.
When multiple playable files are present, playback can continue automatically from one file to the next.
按 MODE，直到听到 “Music Mode”。
当 TF / microSD 卡内存在可播放音频时，Artificial Ear 会自动开始本地播放。
通过 Artificial Ear 制作的录音也会成为 Music Mode 中可以播放的声音内容。
当卡中存在多个可播放文件时，播放可自动从一个文件继续至下一个文件。
03 / RECORD
录音
Recording allows the Ear to capture sound through its microphone and store it directly on the TF / microSD card.
ENTER RECORD MODE / 进入录音模式
Press MODE until you hear “Record Mode.”
A slowly pulsing red light indicates that the Ear is ready to record.
按 MODE，直到听到 “Record Mode”。
红灯缓慢闪烁表示 Artificial Ear 已进入录音待机状态。
START / 开始
Press PP once.
The red indicator begins flashing continuously. The Ear is now recording.
按一次 PP。
红灯开始持续闪烁，此时 Artificial Ear 正在录音。
PAUSE & RESUME / 暂停与继续
Press PP during recording to pause.
The red indicator returns to a slow pulse. Sound occurring while the recording is paused is not captured.
Press PP again to resume.
录音过程中按 PP 可暂停录音。
暂停后红灯恢复慢闪。暂停期间发生的声音不会被录入。
再次按 PP 即可继续录音。
FINISH & SAVE / 结束并保存
Press MODE directly while recording.
The recording ends and you will hear a short ding-ding-ding confirmation tone.
The recording is now stored on the TF / microSD card.
You do not need to pause the recording before saving.
录音过程中直接按 MODE。
录音随即结束，并会听到短促的 ding-ding-ding 保存提示音。
录音文件将储存在 TF / microSD 卡中。
保存前无需先暂停录音。

Artificial Ear communicates its operating state through a combination of red LED indications, spoken mode announcements and confirmation sounds.
Artificial Ear 通过红色 LED 灯、模式语音提示以及确认提示音反馈当前工作状态。
The red LED may also indicate playback, connection or idle states outside active recording. Its appearance may therefore vary depending on the current audio and connection state.
在录音以外的状态中，红色 LED 也可能用于表示播放、连接或待机状态，因此其显示方式可能随当前音频及连接状态而变化。
06 / BLUETOOTH
蓝牙
Artificial Ear can receive wireless audio via Bluetooth 5.0.
Open Bluetooth settings on the source device and select:
BT201-AUDIO
Once connected, begin playback from your phone, tablet or computer.
Artificial Ear 可通过 Bluetooth 5.0 接收无线音频。
打开声音来源设备的蓝牙设置，并选择：

Artificial Ear's output level can be adjusted independently from the volume of the connected source device.

RECORDING + BLUETOOTH / 录音与蓝牙
A Bluetooth device may remain connected while the Ear is in Record Mode.
However, beginning Bluetooth playback during an active recording can interrupt the recording.
Finish and save the recording using MODE before beginning Bluetooth playback.
Artificial Ear 处于 Record Mode 时，蓝牙设备仍可保持连接。
但是，在录音进行过程中开始播放蓝牙音频可能会中断当前录音。
请先使用 MODE 正常结束并保存录音，再开始播放蓝牙音频。
07 / TF CARD & MEMORY

The TF / microSD card functions as the Ear's local memory.
Maximum supported capacity: 128 GB
Supported playback formats:
MP3 / WAV / WMA / FLAC / AAC / APE
Recordings created by the Ear are stored as MP3 files in:
/KT_REC
When playable audio is present, entering Music Mode begins playback automatically.
If no playable audio is available, the Ear may announce “Music Mode” without beginning playback.
Removing the TF / microSD card does not itself disconnect an existing Bluetooth connection.

Artificial Ear provides a:
3.5 mm stereo / headphone-level audio output
It can be connected to headphones or integrated into a wider audio system, including an amplifier, mixer, audio interface or active speaker.
It is not intended to drive a passive loudspeaker directly.
Artificial Ear does not decide where the sound goes next.
Artificial Ear 提供：

YOUR IMMORAL ARTIFICIAL EAR intentionally exposes its electronic architecture as part of the work.
Keep the Ear dry. Avoid exposing the PCB and electronic components to liquids, conductive materials or excessive force while powered.
Do not alter, resolder, rewire or remove electronic components.
When inserting or removing the 3.5 mm audio cable or Micro-USB power cable, always pull the connector straight and parallel to its port. Do not remove cables by pulling on the cable itself.
Transparent surfaces may be cleaned gently using a clean, soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaning materials that may produce unnecessary surface damage.
Fingerprints, fine scratches, pressure marks and other traces may accumulate through handling, use and transportation. These traces form part of the changing material condition of the work.
The exposed circuitry is an integral part of the work and its design, rather than an invitation for hardware modification.
The Ear is open to connection, not open to modification.
